07/23/2012 Nigeria (AllAfrica)- Northern Nigeria is losing more than N19 billion daily due to the crisis and insecurity caused mainly by the frequent Boko Haram bomb attacks in the region.

Wuye said the crisis situation in the northern part of the country has brought about great set back to Nigeria’s economic development and scared away investors from its economy.
The figure translates into a whopping N2.9 trillion this year alone, with 154 days already gone, and could be much more counting from the time the insurgence became a national issue.
Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Youth Wing chairman and co-chairman, Obadiah Haruna advised the youth to shun acts of violence which have caused great damage to the image and economy of the country.

He called on the government to create an enabling environment for the Nigerian youths to help in curtailing the high level of criminality, adding that ‘peace is the only thing that would move our country forward’.
Also speaking at the occasion, Dr. Sulaiman Shuaibu, the co-chairman, Christians Muslims Youth Organisation, called the state and Federal Government to put in more effort in bringing lasting solution to the incessant crisis in the country .
Shuaibu called for peaceful co-existence between the Christians and Muslims youths and to forgive and forget the past incident especially the recent reprisal attack in the state.
