In Northern Nigeria state of Kano , where Islamic law is being implemented, a church was demolished. Christians say that government of the state is responsible for allowing the destruction of the church.

28 February 2008 Nigeria (allAfrica.com)- Tension is mounting in Kano following yesterday’s demolition of a church by some youths. The situation is said to be generating tension between the christian and muslim communities.
While the christians accuse the state government of sponsoring the demolition, the state Commissioner for Information, Haruna Dederi described it as total “blackmail and mischief” saying the allegation had no iota of truth.
